Some graphic sexual content explaining in part the girl's initial antisocial attitude and a closing denouement that is apparently more straightforward than in the original novel. ...but then, presenting the book in all its complexity, both plot-wise and character-wise, is probably an impossible task (and the producers have also to make something that the general non-novel-reading public will also watch).

Yes it's a disturbing watch in places, but not as graphic as the descriptions in the book (fortunately), but it is equally compelling.
