This feat sounds awesome for a cavalier.Benefit: Whenever you charge an opponent from higher ground, or from above while flying, you gain a +5 bonus on attack rolls in place of the bonuses from charging and being on higher ground.I understand that while standing on higher ground, be it a hill or table, and while flying, this feat would apply.Does Jumping before or during a charge(at least 5 ft higher) allow the application of this feat as well? Thank you Xenrac. As a Monk/Druid mostly being in Lion shape, I'll be Pouncing a lot. It’s really a wide open world for the Bard. death from above is a waste of a feat for a cavalier. This feat is one of the things that saves me from my own decision to play a Dex focused Kensai that doesn't have a scimitar. When attacking from the air or higher ground, you bear down on your enemy to deadly effect. Cavalier's Charge: The cavalier receives a +4 bonus on melee attack rolls on a charge while mounted (instead of the normal +2). In-game right now. Making a cavalier for my next upcoming game and i'm trying to figure out if Death from Above is worth taking due to it's wording againts the cavalier ability Cavalier's Charge.Death from Above: Whenever you charge an opponent from higher ground, or from above while flying, you gain a +5 bonus on attack rolls in place of the bonuses from charging and being on higher ground.Cavalier's Charge: The cavalier receives a +4 bonus on melee attack rolls on a charge while mounted (instead of the normal +2). Thank you Xenrac. Death From Above would come in handy, as long as I could put it to good use. Reasoning is "in place of" and "instead of" mean the same thing, both are replacing the valueThe feat is useful for say a barb, fighter or even a mounted paladin to bring them up to the same level as a cavalier, but not useful for a cavalier, they already have better.Thats what I assumed.
Prerequisite(s): Death from Above. Name: Mortis Domus, or Deathome. As a Monk/Druid mostly being in Lion shape, I'll be Pouncing a lot. I Each aspect that Death has in existence reduces its total quintessence (see above) by 800,000,000. If it decides to create one, however, it uses the above statistics. I really don't intend on using natural attacks though. *Pathfinder & Starfinder.
Dec 26, 2008 #1 I'm designing a group of bad guys that have specialized on attacking others from above. Cavalier's Charge on the other had modifies the bonus amount as well as removing the -2 AC effect. My question is if these two abilities stack bonuses or would Death from Above replace the bonus from Cavalier's Charge, thus making Death from Above as a less desireable feat to pick up.This ones arguable, GM's probably going to vary on this one, best to check with your GM.Personally I'd say they are mutually exclusive, i.e. Benefit: Whenever you charge an opponent from higher ground, or from above while flying, you gain a +5 bonus on attack rolls in place of the bonuses from charging and being on higher ground.I understand that while standing on higher ground, be it a hill or table, and while flying, this feat would apply.Does Jumping before or during a charge(at least 5 ft higher) allow the application of this feat as well? No, I don't see that it would, unless you could jump to higher ground during your charge (with the Duelist charge ability, or something similar).I don't believe jumping qualifies as flying, and you're not standing on higher ground, either, so I'd say "no".In a home game, if you had a monk built around charging and jumping and such, I'd probably allow it.Hmm, although, isn't attacking a medium-sized or smaller creature from atop a mount considered "higher ground"?
I'm not sure if I'll press him for this but this is great to think about.Absolutely outstanding information and advice. I'm unsure whether or not Lions can use unarmed strikes either. As for the IUS... Headbutts are always available, kicks, knees, etc.
In addition, the cavalier does not suffer any penalty to his AC after making a charge attack while mounted. As I read it, Death from Above replaces the bonus amount from regular charges while on higher ground than the target.
But one last note: Remember that you can't Flurry with your Natural attacks.
