It is difficult to tell the differences without showing them. The pan is wide and flat whereas the Strad pattern is much more scalloped and deeper so they have a habit of sticking into the players neck. Good points for the fiddler in either direction. I have heard that the guarneri style is better for country, while the stradivari style is better for classical.
