In a long-standing collaboration with the Estonian composer, Arvo Pärt, Stephen Layton and Polyphony have released several CD recordings (Berliner Messe & Magnificat, 1998, and Triodion, 2003), performed a concert at The Three Choirs Festival in Gloucester Cathedral (30 July 2013) with the Philharmonia Orchestra, and released a recording of Pärt's choral music (October 2014). Polyphony is new to me, but what a chorus they are.
They are especially sensitive and expressive in the field of dynamics and create and achieve such a calming and beautiful mood with perfect blending and tuning in resolving of the often complex harmonies of Whiiacre's fine compositions.As a past vocal perfoformer with Musica Reservata of London I cannot recommend this and other performances by Stephen Layton's "Polyphony" enough!
