As expected, the Sailor 1911 Large is a standard, black, cigar-shaped pen. "Very light-weight and comfortable in hand"

During the Pen Day Sale, I decided to break down and get another Sailor 1911L with a fine nib.
Also, it DOES write smoothly, and begins performing each time the nib touches-down.
This is a beautiful pen, great size, classic looks; I have 2, the Fresca and the Gray Anchor. GREAT I admit to taking a big (for my limited budget) chance on choosing, & buying, this puppy...but after studying it elsewhere, & on the YT, I took the plunge...and am glad I did. In Japan, they called these pens “Profit”.

I am impressed with how gracefully the nib moves across the page with hardly any effort.
The anchor gray color is muted and appropriate for work, school, or at home.
"Five Stars" Right now, I would say the Fresca is my #1 fave pen in my collection (for some reason the Fresca nib is slightly better than the Anchor, not sure why). Named in honour of the foundation date of Sailor Pen the 1911 was the first product introduced over 30 years ago.
