Her vulnerability allows the reader to tear down their own walls knowing they aren't alone in their journey. Guaranteed you will finish this book feeling encouraged, and motivated to start living towards a better you. We work hard to protect your security and privacy. I struggled with every word she said about diet and body image—what was meant to be uplifting and inspiring was preached as scientific fact from someone with no medical/dietetic credentials. This should not be considered self help. Insightful, honest and funny as hell! I despise self-help books and anything motivational/trendy/inspirational. Girl, Wash Your Face In this book, each chapter tackles a different lie Rachel has believed, the authentic examples from her own life illustrating those lies, and then the methods she used (or wish she had used) to defeat those lies.

It was so good. One thing that was tough was a constant thread of diet culture and weight loss talk throughout the whole book. Rachel Hollis's life experience is so near perfect and so far removed from that of the average woman, that there is almost nothing in this book that is actually relatable. The best advice I know of in this situation is, if you want to change someone else, change yourself.
Since reading this book a year ago I have followed all of her material - I can also highly recommend her follow-up book 'Girl, Stop Apologizing'. Rachel will be your cheerleader, the girl in your corner, motivating you and pushing you forward.
