Découvrez Live de Jean-Luc Ponty sur Amazon Music. 1977年の秋だったかな、当時NHK-FMの新譜紹介をエアチェックしていた時、斬新な音の響きにひどく感激。それ以来、僕にとってJLPはクロスオーバーの神に位置づけられました。ことあるごとにテープダビングしては、友人に「これを聴け！」と渡していました。今でも友人たちはJLPを教えてもらい、聴けたことをよかったと言います。このアルバムは中古でも１万円ですが、それに値する凄さです。何といっても「Mirage」は秀逸。今でも、これを聴け！と叫びたい（＾」＾） １９７９年リリース。超絶バイオリニスト：ジャンリュックポンティの１９７８年１２月白熱のライブ音源・・・メンバーから推察すると、１９７８年「コズミックメッセンジャー」と１９７９年「アテイストフォーパッション」の中間時期に収録されていると思われます。いままでＣＤ化されていなかったのが不思議なアルバムだったのですが、さすがＷＯＵＮＤＥＤＢＩＲＤはいい仕事をしてくれます・・・再発は本当嬉しかったですね！！メンバーは、ジャンリュックポンティ（５ＳｔｒｉｎｇＶｌｎ）・ラルフアームストロング（Ｂ）・アランザバド（Ｋｅｙ）・ケイシーシューレル（Ｄｒ）・ジョアキンリヴァーノ（Ｇ）・ジェイミーグラッサー（Ｇ）・・・なかなか凄腕のミュージシャンで構成されており、演奏力もかなりのもので素晴らしいです。ポンティ、バリバリ弾きまくりでカッコ良すぎです、笑。またベースのラルフアームストロングが、ギタリスト以上に弾きまくっている感じでとにかく目立ちます。個人的には「エニグマティックオーシャン」収録の「ミラージュ」が、感慨ひとしおでしたね。前述した通りとにかくポンティが凄まじくて（若い、笑）、４曲目あたりのソロなどは圧巻です（バイオリンですよ）！！６曲目ディレイを使ったソロなどを聴くと、この人のアイデアの素晴らしさ（７８年ですよ！）に感心させられます。のりに乗った時期のポンティが聴ける、ＪＡＺＺＲＯＣＫサウンド炸裂の素晴らしいアルバムです・・・必聴！！！！
